March 2018 Goal Update

Welcome back to the blog!

Where has time gone?! It’s been over a month since my last goal update so I wanted to get you all up to speed. I’ve had a lot of events that will somewhat change my lifestyle. I’ve been on the market looking for a new job (for months now). Woohoo! This is a process that I really don’t enjoy. You spend all this time submitting applications and hardly hear back, or hear back a month later. By the time you hear back you may have forgotten where you applied and the position you applied for! Any who that’s been my life. I’m finally hearing back from companies/recruiters and scheduling times for interviews (😄).

I’m also in the process of looking for another place to stay. This is also a dreaded task. I despise packing and searching for a place to stay. I have to check the prices, look at reviews, scope the surrounding areas, come back at night preferably in the summer to assess the complex after the leasing office closes. (Am I the only one who does drive-bys at night?) There’s so much to do!

With all that being said let’s get into the goal updates! First up:

Intermittent Fasting

I’m maintaining my weight, neither gaining or losing. I’m not a huge fan of intermittent fasting though. The times I’ve chosen aren’t ideal for my lifestyle and of course I could tweak it but it’s just not the best choice in my opinion. I love breakfast and saving it until 11am or eating it after 11am doesn’t seem to help much. I wake up extremely hungry, probably because I don’t eat enough in my last meal to keep me satisfied for 16 hours! My body and mind just haven’t gotten the hang of it and I’d prefer to find an alternative that will keep me healthy.

I’m currently looking for another book. I haven’t really had a lot of extra time with me searching for another job, getting ready for our audit, and searching for a place to stay. I’m just going to commit to Kindle Unlimited for $9.99. I was against it because I’m trying to save and it wasn’t a necessity, however it’s for a good cause. It also beats paying for books at retail prices at Barnes and Noble. I could also visit the local library if all fails. I just wouldn’t go on a weekday since I’d be so pressed for time after getting back on my side of town from work and traffic.

As you know I’m using Digit and it accidentally over-drafted my account. Bummer! But it’s so easy to get reimbursed for the overdraft fee if its Digit’s fault. You just send them a screen shot of the transaction that caused the overdraft, and the overdraft fee and a customer service representative will look into it. It is a quick process and then you can transfer the overdraft fee back into your account. Easy! The only thing is that my money has been tight so saving has been a little hard. But I opened two Save First accounts and it will automatically transfer a set amount from my checking into both Save First accounts every two weeks. I’m looking forward to watching the accounts grow!

So there aren’t any super exciting updates, but hopefully I’ll have some great news to share in the best future! I’m really looking forward to what 2018 has in store for me!
