February Goal Update

Welcome back to the blog!

Happy Friday! We are finally in the month of February! January literally felt like a year. I wanted to reflect on some of my goals that I’ve set for the year and give you all some updates.

Intermittent Fasting: I started January 26, 2018. I didn’t weigh myself when I began, but I was weighed last week at work since we are having a weight loss challenge. Our goal at work is to lose 120 pounds collectively. As of today, I am down three pounds. That translates to about 10,500 calories that I didn’t consume (one pound equals 3,500 calories). In order to set a goal to lose one pound a week you should try to have a negative amount of calories a day. For example, if you are consuming 1500 calories a day, you should try to burn 2000 calories which will leave you with -500 a day, and 3500 over 7 days.

It sounds hard but I’m doing it. So I know you can too! I average about 1800 inactive calories a day just sitting down doing nothing. As long as I eat less than what I consume, I will have a deficit, on top of whatever calories I burn during a workout.

Reading: So far I’ve completed two books. The first one was I am Watching You by Teresa Driscoll and the other Say You’re Sorry by Melina Leigh. Both books are great reads if you enjoy mysteries/suspense books. I’m currently looking for my next read.

Saving: slowly but surely I am building it up. I opened a CD with my credit union. I transfer money from my checking account to the CD every two weeks when I get paid. If I have any money left over at the end of the month I may add those funds to it.

I also use Digit. In one week I had saved about $50, however I needed it to pay a bill. Regardless, I was amazed at the amount of time it took to save that amount. I like Digit though and will continue to use it.

I am very happy with my progress so far. I am motivated and happy. I’ve got to keep pushing and keep up my momentum. How are you doing with your goals?
